After quite a few years of posting our favorite five shots from the previous month on the fifth of the month, the beautiful group of women that I’ve been posting with is going to be trying something a little different this year. On the 12th of each month, we’ll all post something together – something we’ve been up to lately, in one form or another. When you’re done passing through my day, I’d love if you’d head over to Staci’s beautiful blog – her work makes me slow down and breathe a little bit deeper – and pop over to visit Vanessa’s blog – I love the energy in her photos.
This month, I headed into my day in the life shooting from a self-portrait angle. I have recently finished up a really lovely class called The Magician’s Cape with Heather Robinson, that has pushed me to look at how I am or am not showing up in the visual narrative that I’m creating with my photography. For the most part, I take pictures of my family and not a whole lot with them. This summer, and hopefully on for the foreseeable future, I hope to change that. I hope to really make an intentional effort to get into the frame with my kids, with my husband, with the whole lot of us.
