Letters to our child | May 2015

It’s another installment of what will hopefully be many monthly letters written to my son. It’s a part of an attempt to capture these glimpses into the everyday and the not so ordinary moments that pass by so quickly as children grow.

Dear Happy, Energetic Boy –

We spend our days barking and mooing and trying to figure out which “Moooore DAT!!” you’re referring to. We go down the slide about 2,368 times in a row, stop for some bubble blowing, maybe a snack or some lunch, and head back for the slide. You are happy, happy, happy, and I couldn’t be prouder.

You add about an animal sound every other day at this point, and your words are getting there! You do a totally awesome drunk-baby-stagger, and you’re gaining in stability constantly. You’ve started to LOVE trucks and buses, and its fortunate that we live near a school, so standing on the porch, looking out the window is amazing entertainment.

You are learning so quickly now, or, perhaps you were always learning this quickly (probably). It’s just so evident as the things you are learning are things that make you seem more and more like a kid and like your very own person. It’s both fascinating and incredible to be a part of.

I love you so so much, sweet, amazing boy.

Love always and always,

Mama
