Letters to our child | December 2015

It’s another (belated) installment of what will hopefully be many monthly letters written to my son. It’s a part of a memory-keeping attempt to capture these glimpses into the everyday and the not so ordinary moments that pass by so quickly as children grow. This is an ongoing series.

Dear fearless boy,

You have started climbing and leaning and jumping in ways set out to test your invincibility. So far, not even a scratch on you, but, man, have you given my heart some jump starts. You have been doing so well at ECFE lately – both with the separation portion and with playing well with the other kids. You love to play and sing along with the piano, dad’s guitar and the little ukulele we let you play with (bonus video this month!). You’re really getting into our zoo visits and are doing a lot more of the walking yourself. The stroller is really more for hauling jackets around (something this sweet family said to me about a year ago 🙂 ). It’s also been great to start to do some winter and Christmasy things with you. You were fine with them last year, but there’s this brand new sense of wonder that is so contagious. Hold on to that – even if not all of it. But, allow yourself to be filled with awe and wonder from time to time. It’s good for you and amazing for the world around you.

Love always and always,
Mama
