On the last evening of what has arguably been the most gorgeous weekend in a long time around here, I want to take you on a little trip back in time. Back to when there was still snow on the ground, when the air had that frigid bite to it, back to a crystal-clear sunshiney day when Madeline and Ryan said their “I dos.”

From the very first interaction I had with these two I just knew they’d be my kind of people. True to their words, they were the last people on the dance floor, their families and friends were there with them every waltz, polka, swing and step of the way, and they are crazy in love with each other. Madeline said that she was nervous getting ready, her shoes got misplaced along the way from getting her hair done, but we had to get going to her and Ryan’s first look. I think she summed up their relationship just perfectly when she told me that as she was walking to the front of the church to see her sweetie, padding along in her stocking feet, all the nerves and tension melted away and she only felt the utter happiness and excitement of this next step they were about to take. (And don’t worry – the shoes were found just before their family photos started!)

Madeline and Ryan, you two are some of the most wonderful people I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. I know you’ll have the most amazing married life and I wish you absolutely nothing but the best.
