Why I Love This Photo | Minneapolis Senior Photographer

Taking a cue from the incredible British photographer, Kevin Mullins, I want to start doing some quick little posts with just a single photo, and a little bit about why I that particular photo sticks with me.

So, it’s kind of cheating because it’s two photos, but the reason I love them is similar. There are always these moments during photo sessions that are kind of “in between” moments. They are times of transition, glances away, the breakdown into complete (and always awesome) giggling fits. Truth be told, these are my absolute favorite moments. The shots that come from these moments are also some of my very favorite ones. They may not make the yearly holiday card, and they might not be the canvases that hang on everyone’s wall, but I guarantee you, they’re the ones that I’m really hoping make it up somewhere in your house. Working with Selin at her senior photo session was so amazing. She has this beautiful looking off and dreaming look that is both determined and wistful, and then in the next second she’ll break down into complete laughter, nose and shoulders scrunched up with such joy that it’s impossible not to laugh along. I absolutely love these little in between moments from Selin’s session. Really, really love them.
