Letters to our child | June 2015

It’s another installment of what will hopefully be many monthly letters written to my son. It’s a part of an attempt to capture these glimpses into the everyday and the not so ordinary moments that pass by so quickly as children grow.

Dear Clever, Charming Boy,

As I write this letter, you’re slowly calming yourself down into a nap, something you’ve been getting better and better at lately. You’re getting to be such a big boy – really not a baby anymore. How the heck did that happen? Seriously. Your walking has gotten pretty steady and you’re speedy! Not quite running yet, but that’s totally on the horizon.

Summer is here in full swing and you love it. Being outside and just tooling around in the yard, up and down the slide, in and out of the swing, pushing your little trike around, splashing in your water table, makes you so so happy – tired, by the end of the day, but happy. Having dad home for the season is wonderful too. We’ve already gone on a couple of picnics and we’re looking forward to taking you camping for the first (few) times soon. Exploring all that that has to offer should be quite the adventure. I can’t wait!

Love always and always,

Mama
