12 on 12 | Minnesota Documentary Photographer

One of my favorite days, on the 12th of each month, I’m trying to post something I’ve been up to lately, in one form or another. This last month of the year, I went back to the beginning and just went with the standard at least one photo an hour for 12 hours of the day. When you’re done passing through, I’d love if you’d head over to Staci’s beautiful blog – her work makes me slow down and breathe a little bit deeper.

This project wound up being a lot harder than I thought it would be. I set out last January with the hopes of doing some different kind of day-in-the-life shooting each month. I did pretty well for a while – both kids in the frame, instax, video, landscape – and then my busy season showed up and my personal shooting shot straight into a big old rut that I’m still feeling pretty stuck in. But this month, I went for it anyway. It’s not my best, but it’s my most honest in this little moment. I’m hoping for a reboot of sorts in the new year. A fresh start, a new breath, a reinvigorated drive. I post these twelve to round out my series, as it were – to see it through.
